dc.description.abstractThe Zoological Reference Collection (ZRC) of the National University of Singapore, houses the zoological collections of the former Raffles Museum in Singapore. These collections form the bases for many zoological research on Southeast Asian fauna. There are about 30,000 bird study skins in the collection. The present catalogue, the first of five parts, lists 3,825 specimens of 342 species and subspecies and 32 families belonging to the avian orders Struthioniformes, Sphenisciformes, Podicipediformes, Procellariiformes, Pelecaniformes, Ciconiiformes, Anseriformes, Falconiformes, Galliformes, Gruiformes and Charadriiformes. Catalogue number, sex, locality data, name of collectors, date of collection, and remarks where available, are provided for each specimen.
