dc.description.abstract | Comparative genomics is the analysis and comparison of genomes from different species. In recent years, in conjunction with the growing number of available sequenced genomes, this field has undergone a rapid expansion. In the current survey, we review models and methods associated with four important research topics in this area that have interesting computational and statistical components: genome rearrangements, gene duplication, phylogenetic networks and positional gene clustering. The survey aims at balancing between presenting classical results and promising new developments. © 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. | |
