The improvement of the upper critical field and location of surface nucleation of superconductivity are discussed. A cylindrical superconductor of infinite height was subjected to an applied magnetic field along the cylindrical axis. The sample was found to loose its superconducting property, when the applied magnetic field was very strong. It was found that the superconductivity nucleates at the surface of the sample where the curvature of the cross section is maximum.
