dc.description.abstract | An elastic ferroelectric is perturbed simultaneously by a body force, an applied electric field and a source current, whose components are all anisotropic about but invariant along the equilibrium polarization. The resultant anisotropically inhomogeneous equations constitute a coupled quasiisotropic system. The time-harmonic solution secured reveals superpositions of quasiisotropic eigencolumns over (i) four admissible spectral sets for a column of vectorial perturbations in the transverse plane, (ii) two admissible spectral sets for a column of longitudinal scalar perturbations. Detailed investigations are made into (a) the wave eigencolumns at any frequency, and within a high-frequency subrange, (b) far-field phenomena, (c) the symmetry case, (d) the displacement and its degeneration towards an isolated purely elastic phase. © 1987. | |
