dc.description.abstract	The identity of Rasbora beauforti has remained uncertain since its original description in 1937 as a result of the loss of the original material. Recent attempts to collect it at and near the type locality did not yield any species fitting the original description but created the suspicion that the original description is based on a series including more than one species. A neotype is designated; R. beauforti is now a junior synonym of R. cephalotaenia. © 2011 by Verlag Dr. Friedrich Pfeil,.
