dc.description.abstract | This is the second part of a series of guides to the aquatic Heteroptera of Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia published in the Raffles Bulletin of Zoology. The family Veliidae, with 15 genera and 33 recorded species, are the second commonest group of aquatic bugs in the region. We provide a list of known local species of Veliidae, a key to genera, and keys to species where applicable. We also include illustrations of representative members of each genus, some of the key characters used, and notes on biology and habitat. | |
