dc.description.abstractThe emerging of wireless technologies shows the possibility in the development of healthcare especially physiological signal monitoring and diagnostic tests. Yet, current approach is limited by the power source or communication distance. Bulky power modules are required for the on-body sensor node to power the device and for data transmission. Also, battery-less sensor nodes are required proximity (up to few centimeters) for powering and communication. This limits the implementation as well as the application of the system. In this thesis, the near-field system capable of establishing wireless power and data connectivity along human body is reported. By considering the limitation of the materials and the human body curvature, the near-field system with optimal performance is designed. Further, the application of near-field system is further investigated and proposed as real-time, multiple-node measurement, continuous sensing during excessive activity, as well as the chronic wound infection monitoring for clinical diagnosis.
