Abstract: Third harmonic ac susceptibility of superconducting strips with finite thickness in perpendicularly applied magnetic field Ha = H0 sin(ωt) have been calculated. The flux creep effect is taken into account by using a power-law electric field E(j) = Ec(j/jc)n. Results for different thicknesses and creep exponents n have been derived and compared to the results derived from the Bean critical state model. © 2000 Elsevier Science H.V. All rights reserved.
