Abstract: A Mossbauer investigation of CsSnCl3 was carried out in the 85 to 300 K range. The temperature dependences of the isomer shift, quadrupole splitting, and recoilless fraction are presented. The first two quantities are sensitive indicators of any change in the environment of the tin (II) atoms on cooling the crystal. The value of the Debye temperature of CsSnCl3 was also determined from the Mossbauer data.
