ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1063/1.1516840 | Abstract: | The room temperature visible photoluminescence was reported from undoped ZnS nanoparticle thin films embedded in SiO2 matrices. After annealing there was a blueshift of PL which increased with increasing sample annealing. The mechanism of PL and its blueshift was found to be due to the S vacancies and the formation of ZnS(O2 -) in the surface layers of the nanoparticles adjacent to the SiO2. | Source Title: | Journal of Applied Physics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/97843 | ISSN: | 00218979 | DOI: | 10.1063/1.1516840 |
