Abstract: The relation between the PT symmetry and Hermiticity is discussed. In the finitedimensional linear space, any Hermitian matrix is a special case of PT -symmetric matrices. Explicit results in 2 × 2 are shown. The early belief that the PT -symmetric quantum mechanics is a generalization of the conventional Hermitian quantum mechanics is confirmed. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
