Abstract: Raman studies of NaNO3 were carried out under high pressures generated by a diamond anvil cell (DAC). A new phase transition II/II' was observed at 14 kbar under hydrostatic pressure. This phase transition is marked by the disappearance of the translational mode at 100 cm-1 and the frequency discontinuity of the v1 mode. © 1993.
