Abstract: The effects of mechanical activation on the formation of PbTiO3 (PT) from amorphous Pb-Ti-O precursor synthesized by coprecipitation was investigated. The crystallization of tetragonal PT phase was considered as a nucleation and growth process described by the Avrami model. The results showed that the particle size effected the structure of the PT phase where PT showed the pseudocubic to tertragonal transition with increasing particle size.
