Abstract: A combinatorial optimization algorithm, called the genetic annealing algorithm, is proposed, which incorporates the principles of simulated annealing into the genetic algorithm, for the estimation of the parameters for double frequency modulation (DFM) synthesis, which is a tedious process by the usual trial-and-error method. It is also shown that the algorithm is more effective than the genetic algorithm in estimating the DFM parameters for all the authors' samples.
