Abstract: The miscibility of binary blends of poly-3-fluoropropyl methacrylate, P3FPMA, with various polymethacrylates and polyesters was studied by differential scanning calorimetry. P3FPMA is miscible with polymethylmethacrylate, PMMA, and polytetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate, but immiscible with eight other polymethacrylates. Lower critical solution temperature behavior was found for P3FPMA/PMMA blends. P3FPMA is miscible with polybutylene adipate and poly(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propylene adipate), showing a 'miscibility window' over a narrow CHx/COO ratio range. The miscibility behavior of P3FPMA is compared with other chlorine- and fluorine-containing polymethacrylates.
