Abstract: Puckered square grid coordination polymers [M(dps)2]X (M = Cu(I), X = ClO4 (1), PF6 (2); M = Ag(I), X = PF6 (3), CF3SO3 (4); dps = 4,4′-dipyridylsulfide) have been synthesized and characterized in the solid state by X-ray crystallography. Of these, the cations in 3 and 4 were found to interpenetrate while 1 and 2 were not. However, the anions greatly influence the conformation of the puckered square grids in 1 and 2.
