Abstract: Chloride dissociation of [(PPh3)4Pt2(μ3-S) 2BiCl3] (2) followed by addition of [Pt2(PPh3)4(μ-S)2] (1) gave a bis-bidentate complex [{(PPh3)4Pt2(μ3-S) 2}2BiCl2]Cl (4), which regenerated 2 in CH2Cl2. Complex 4 represents the first example of a main-group complex incorporating two bulky thio ligands of 1.
