Abstract: A special form of equation r̄ t 3-r̄ 0 3 = 8x 2 α(∞)Dσ αβV m β/9RT 1-x 2 α(∞)/(x 2 β(∞)-x 2 α (∞)) 2 t or equation r̄ t 3-r̄ 0 3 = 8Dσ αβV m β/9 G m α″(x 2 β(∞)-x 2 α (∞)) 2 t was presented for the coarsening of stoichiometric compound precipitates in a binary system. The modification is based on the facts that the Gibbs-Thomson equation for a compound precipitate and the mass balance equation for the growth of a compound precipitate are somewhat different from those for a solid-solution precipitates.
