The model is conceptually simple and uses a single parameter γ (with values between -1 and 1) representing physical flow conditions in the circulation loop to simulate the different mixing behaviour ranging from perfect plug flow to complete backmixing. Model predictions of tracer concentration profiles and mixing times are in good agreement with the experimental results from tracer studies in an external loop airlift system. | Source Title: | Chemical Engineering Journal | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/92126 | ISSN: | 13858947 | DOI: | 10.1016/S1385-8947(99)00012-1 |
