Abstract: Digital holographic data storage, featuring high capacity and fast data transfer rate is investigated extensively as one of the potential candidates for next generation high-density data storage. Point spread function (PSF) estimation method is adapted in digital holographic storage system followed by data detection techniques such as Viterbi detection. Experiments and simulations show this method can fast and accurately detect the PSF. The channel model has the feasibility of a hardware implementation and the possibility of parallel processing.
