Abstract: The miscibility of poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP), poly(N-methyl-N-vinylacetamide) (PMVAc) and poly(N,N.-dimetnylacrylamide) (PDMA) with poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) was studied. The three tertiary amide polymers are miscible with SAN, having a sufficiently high acrylonitrile (AN) content. The critical AN contents are 62, 65 and 68 wt% for PVP, PMVAc and PDMA, respectively. The miscibility behaviour is discussed in terms of a binary interaction model.
