Abstract: An optically pure P-chiral diphosphine has been prepared efficiently from the asymmetric dimerization of 3,4-dimethyl-1-phenylphosphole in the presence of an organoplatinum(II) complex derived from (R)-N,N-dimethyl-1-(1- naphthyl)ethylamine.
