Abstract: The speckle reduction method, incorporated to a refined Lee filter in the spatial domain with wavelet shrinkage, is proposed. Due to the edge-directed windows used, much of the speckle are removed, including high contrast areas such as edges. The speckle is further reduced because of wavelet shrinkage. In addition, noise spikes will also be reduced.
