Abstract: Time pressure is become increasingly evident in new product development (NPD) teams. However, there remains gaps in understanding the relationships between time pressure, team processes and performance. This study focuses on how time pressure affects communication in teams, and the possible strategies to manage time pressure. A framework was developed through literature review and verified using a case study. The results showed that communication is strongly affected by time pressure and team played an important role in managing time pressure. © 2005 IEEE.
