ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1109/IWAT.2012.6178681 | Abstract: | In this paper, our research progress on millimeter-wave on-chip antennas and antennas in package will be reported. Firstly, wideband 60-GHz on-chip antennas with artificial magnetic conductors (AMC) on a standard 0.18um CMOS process will be presented. With the introduction of AMC, more freedom is added to optimize the antenna performance. The AMC plane can make the reflected wave in phase with the incident wave, therefore increase the gain performance. After that, we will also present a 60-GHz planar helical antenna using the LTCC technology. The antenna element is composed of eight 1/3-turn open loops at various layers connected by via holes to form an axial-mode helical structure to generate traveling wave radiation. © 2012 IEEE. | Source Title: | 2012 IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology, iWAT 2012 | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/70940 | ISBN: | 9781467300360 | DOI: | 10.1109/IWAT.2012.6178681 |
