Abstract: Equilibrium relations for the fructose-dextran-water system on silica gel have been determined by a liquid chromatographic method. The experimental procedure discussed provides a simple and straightforward means of determining adsorption equilibria. The ternary adsorption equilibria, derived from chromatographic retention time measurements of binary systems, are verified by the equilibrium theory developed by Gluekauf (1949).
