Title: | NOVEL EXPERIMENTAL CELL FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE THROWING POWER OF AN ELECTROPLATING SYSTEM. | Authors: | Tan, Thiam Chye | Issue Date: | Dec-1987 | Citation: | Tan, Thiam Chye (1987-12). NOVEL EXPERIMENTAL CELL FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE THROWING POWER OF AN ELECTROPLATING SYSTEM.. Journal of the Electrochemical Society 134 (12) : 3011-3015. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The effect of interelectrode distance on the rate of metal deposition on a cathodic surface was studied in a novel ten-compartment cell which contains ten parallel sets of cathodes and anodes kept at different distances apart. The experimental results were correlated with the recently proposed model, which assumes that each of the electrode processes occurs under small overpotential such that the linear form of Butler-Volmer equation applies. Better correlation was obtained for the nine nickel plating baths, operating at recommended and room temperatures than those obtained in a previous study using a Haring-Blum cell with only one cathode and an anode. | Source Title: | Journal of the Electrochemical Society | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/67502 | ISSN: | 00134651 |
