Abstract: Biodegradable amphiphilic poly(ethylne oxide) (PEO)-poly[(R)-3-hydroxy butyrate] (PHB)-PEO triblock copolymers were synthesized. Two chains of PEO were coupled with a low-molecular weight isotactic PHB chain in the middle. The structures and molecular characteristics of the PEO-PHB-PEO triblock copolymers were studied by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
