ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | A three-dimensional finite element analysis using a special purpose programme (FEABOC) has been carried out on column base plates under axial loads and moments. Parameters in the study are the plate thickness and eccentricity of load. Strain distributions in the plate have been determined and the effects of the parameters studied.
