Title: | Axisymmetric free vibration analysis of cylindrical shell structures using bef analogy | Authors: | Thambiratnam, D.P. Thevendran, V. |
Issue Date: | 3-Apr-1992 | Citation: | Thambiratnam, D.P.,Thevendran, V. (1992-04-03). Axisymmetric free vibration analysis of cylindrical shell structures using bef analogy. Computers and Structures 43 (1) : 145-150. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | A simple finite element method is presented for the axisymmetric free vibration analysis of cylindrical shell structures with uniform or varying wall thickness. The method is based on the analogy with a beam on elastic foundation, where the foundation modulus and beam flexural rigidity are replaced by appropriate parameters pertaining to the shell under consideration. The technique is attractive for implementation on a microcomputer and with few elements it gives results which compare well with other solutions. © 1992. | Source Title: | Computers and Structures | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/65194 | ISSN: | 00457949 |
