Abstract: An approximate method for the computation of quasi-Fermi levels (QFL) in the vicinity of a grain boundary (GB) under uniform optical illumination and zero bias is presented. The analysis is based on the abrupt depletion approximation of the space-charge region (SCR) surrounding the GB. Results show that considerable bending of the minority carrier QFL exists in SCR, but for the majority carrier QFL, the bending is slight.
