Title: | Effect of disk acceleration on the generation of acoustic emission signal at the head-disk interface | Authors: | Ravikiran, A. Liew, T. Low, T.S. |
Issue Date: | 15-Apr-1999 | Citation: | Ravikiran, A.,Liew, T.,Low, T.S. (1999-04-15). Effect of disk acceleration on the generation of acoustic emission signal at the head-disk interface. Journal of Applied Physics 85 (8 II B) : 5612-5614. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Two different types of triangular spindle were used to generate different disk accelerations of acoustic emission (AE) signals at the head-disk interface. Experiments showed that disk acceleration has an effect on AE signal generation. For unlubricated disks, the rms peak magnitude of AE signal increased with acceleration. For lubricated disk, the signals decreased with acceleration. | Source Title: | Journal of Applied Physics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/62089 | ISSN: | 00218979 |
