Abstract: The finite-difference time-domain (FD-TD) method is used to analyze two different configurations of a coaxial-line to radial-line junction with a dielectrically sheathed post. Results obtained for the reflected voltages at the junction are Fourier-transformed to yield the reflection coefficient. Experimental measurements are performed on the coaxial-line to radial-line junction and show excellent agreement with the FD-TD results.
