Title: | Orienting grains with{110} surface traces | Authors: | Fong, H.S. | Issue Date: | Jun-1986 | Citation: | Fong, H.S. (1986-06). Orienting grains with{110} surface traces. Metallurgical Transactions A 17 (6) : 961-966. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1007/BF02661261 | Abstract: | Analytical equations for cubic crystals are developed relating a grain or crystal surface orientation to the angles between {110} traces on the surface. This allows easy and rapid orientation determinations with a computer with as high an accuracy as the trace data will permit. If the {110} intertrace angles can be ascertained with high precision, then four trace directions will usually suffice to give a unique grain or crystal surface orientation. Otherwise, more than four trace directions may be required. © 1986 The Metallurgical of Society of AIME. | Source Title: | Metallurgical Transactions A | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/58594 | ISSN: | 03602133 | DOI: | 10.1007/BF02661261 |
