Abstract: The fast multipole method hybridized with the asymptotic waveform evaluation is presented in this paper to efficiently calculate the scattering from electrically large objects. A novel interpolation method for the hybridization is proposed, which provides a more accurate result for the scattering pattern calculation than the original extrapolation method. The accuracy and efficiency of this proposed hybrid method are examined through numerical examples.
