Abstract: The formulation of PBG structure consisting of complex (including anisotropic, biisotropic and bianisotropic) medium is modeled by using pseudo-spectral time-domain method, and then employed for calculating the dispersion curves. The numerical results show that in the case of isotropic medium, the dispersion curves are in good agreement with that from FDTD method and also plane wave expansion method; in the case of anisotropic medium, the dispersion curves form a wider first stop-band and more stop-bands of higher order.
