ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1049/iet-map:20050263 | Abstract: | A semi-circle-fed microstrip patch antenna is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna is found to have a much broader impedance bandwidth when compared with the conventional L-slot antenna. The proposed antenna is able to achieve an impedance bandwidth of 63.7 for Voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR)<2, centred at ≃6GHz. To the author's knowledge, this reported bandwidth is by far the largest achievable through the probe proximity coupled technique. A comparison between rectangular-shaped patch antenna and stub patch antenna using the same excitation mechanism is given. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2007. | Source Title: | IET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/55239 | ISSN: | 17518725 | DOI: | 10.1049/iet-map:20050263 |
