Title: | A classification scheme for the light-current (L/I) characteristics of a two photon mode semiconductor laser | Authors: | Chua, S.J. | Issue Date: | May-1983 | Citation: | Chua, S.J. (1983-05). A classification scheme for the light-current (L/I) characteristics of a two photon mode semiconductor laser. Optical and Quantum Electronics 15 (3) : 231-240. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1007/BF00619933 | Abstract: | The behaviour of a semiconductor laser in which two photon modes exist above threshold is analysed using the rate equations. This paper classifies the different qualitative behaviour of mode competition by using a single parameter γ. The simplified analysis, neglecting electronic diffusion is sufficient to explain the experimental L/I characteristics of weak and strong polarization in semiconductor lasers which were previously treated theoretically using a power distribution model. © 1983 Chapman and Hall Ltd. | Source Title: | Optical and Quantum Electronics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/53940 | ISSN: | 03068919 | DOI: | 10.1007/BF00619933 |
