Issue Date: | Dec-2011 | Citation: | Choi, H.,Hong, S.-I. (2011-12). Cultural influence affecting the relationship between caregivers' strain patterns and well-being among Korean caregivers. Asia Pacific Journal of Social Work and Development 21 (2) : 5-20. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This study examines Korean family caregivers' strain patterns, the role of cultural influence on these strain patterns, and the strain patterns' impact on caregivers' well-being. In light of cultural views of caregiving, caregivers' autonomy in decision-making and attachment to care recipients determined their psychological well-being and significantly moderated the impact of caregiving strains on caregivers' life satisfaction and depression. More tailored interventions should consider the cultural values of family caregivers. | Source Title: | Asia Pacific Journal of Social Work and Development | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/50260 | ISSN: | 02185385 |
