The proposed encoding technique structures the genotype-phenotype mapping process as a sequential chain of decision points, where each decision point consists of a choice between alternative options. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of the decision chain encoding technique, a case-study is presented for the evolutionary optimization of the architectural design for a large residential building. © 2013 Springer-Verlag. | Source Title: | Lecture Notes in Computer Science (including subseries Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence and Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics) | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/45478 | ISBN: | 9783642369544 | ISSN: | 03029743 | DOI: | 10.1007/978-3-642-36955-1_14 |
