Abstract: In this thesis, the reactions between Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4 and organic dihalides are discussed. In most of these reactions, an organic bridge over the {Pt2S2} unit is formed. Reactions between Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4 and I?,I?a??-dichloro-o-xylene, 1,8-bis(bromomethyl) naphthalene, 2,3-bis(bromomethyl)quinoxaline are discussed. Structures of compounds get in these reactions are analyzed. In these reactions, organic bridges over {Pt2S2} units formed. Their interesting structures and optical property are discussed. The reactions between Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4 and cis-1,4-dichloro-2-butene are described. In THF, we get a compound with the organic part anchors on the {Pt2S2} unit. In MeOH, however, a triplatinum compound forms. [Pt2Pd(mu3-S)2(PPh3)5(C4H3S-C)]BPh4 is synthesized from reaction between Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4 and PdBr(theinyl)(PPh3)2. This compound may be of great importance in homogeneous catalytic reactions.
