Abstract: The PhD research studies the impact of Indian economic liberalization on the Indian manufacturing industry. The study is undertaken at 3-digit and firm level data- base from Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) and Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). In the thesis, we have used neoclassical growth accounting, cost function and production function methodologies to study the economic liberalization and productivity growth in the Indian manufacturing industries. In addition, we also study the spillovers and linkages between domestic and multinational companies in Indian Pharmaceutical industries.
