RELATING ANALYTIC METHODOLOGY USE TO TASK PERFORMANCE: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | THIS STUDY DRAWS ON THE LITERATURE ON METHODOLOGY ADOPTION IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION ACCEPTANCE TO DEVELOP AND TEST A MODEL WHICH EXAMINES THE DETERMINANTS OF METHODOLOGY USAGE AND THE MECHANISM BY WHICH THE USE OF A METHODOLOGY INFLUENCES TASK PERFORMANCE OF NOVICE USERS TO ANALYTICS. IN A SURVEY OF 80 ANALYTICS STUDENTS, THE MODEL RESULTS SHOW THAT NOVICE USERS? PERCEPTION OF THE USEFULNESS OF A METHODOLOGY IN OFFERING CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF THE ANALYTIC PROCESS ENABLING THEM TO INITIATE AND PERFORM AN ANALYTIC PROJECT SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCES THEIR USAGE OF THE METHODOLOGY. ALSO, PERCEIVED EASE OF USE OF A METHODOLOGY SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTS ITS USAGE. THE ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF A METHODOLOGY, HOWEVER, DOES NOT NECESSARILY DRIVE PERFORMANCE. RATHER, IT IS THE EXTENT TO WHICH THE METHODOLOGY IS EFFECTIVELY EXPLOITED IN PERFORMING THE ANALYTIC PROCESS THAT SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCES TASK PERFORMANCE. IMPLICATIONS OF THESE FINDINGS FOR RESEARCH AND PRACTICE ARE DISCU | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/144363 |
