Organisational learning in construction: The case of construction firms in Jakarta, Indonesia. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The thesis investigated the key internal factors that contribute to organisational learning among construction firms. Empirical evidence was provided from a survey carried out in Jakarta, Indonesia, where a questionnaire was distributed to the directors of 1,531 construction firms and usable responses were received from 106 respondents. Interviews were conducted with key staff of six construction firms, two senior lectures from a university, and chairmen of two associations. The results extracted from exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the existence of the hypothesised factors, namely leadership, experience, employee turnover, organisational culture, and knowledge management system. Leadership turned out to be the most important factor. The study proposed a framework to help top management of construction firms implement organisational learning by taking into account the Indonesian cultural traits. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/14264 |
