Abstract: This thesis describes an integrated reverse engineering approach of freeform objects based on the integration of a 3D scanner and a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The aim is to obtain a more efficient and accurate digitization result of high accuracy and at the same time exploiting the advantages of both the laser and mechanical sensors with minimum human intervention.
