Abstract: This thesis integrates the land development and transportation into a complete system and develops integrated land use and transportation models with equity conditions for road traffic and transit networks. The proposed models exploit the land use potential and project the optimal trip generation with the consideration of transportation equity. The equity based land use and transportation problem is a Stackerlberg game. Bi-level programming approach is suitable to express the land use and transportation problem. To solve these models, this thesis adopts following algorithms: genetic algorithm, convex combination method and diagonalization method. For the road traffic network, the model is tested using Nguyen-Dupuis network which consists of 19 links and 13 nodes. For the public transit network, the tests are carried out on a real transit network in Singapore which includes bus lines and MRT lines.
