Abstract: 1. A decomposition theorem for k-positive maps is presented. As a consequence, it verifies a conjecture that every 3x3 positive partial transpose entangled quantum state has Schmidt number 2. 2. A systematical method to construct high dimensional positive partial transpose states with any prescribed Schmidt number is given.
