Abstract: The design and construction of a simple conductivitymeter which uses a miniature cell having cylindrical (coaxial) electrodes is described. The meter is suitable for electrolytic conductivity measurements on samples available in restricted volumes, say, of a few milliliters. Its practical application in clinical chemistry to measure conductivities of diluted blood samples and thereby assay the blood parameters are indicated. Fabricational aspects of the cell and design requirements of the associated circuits pertaining to a test meter are presented and the performance characteristics are discussed.
