王安忆小说的都市叙事 = Urban Narrative in the Works of Wang Anyi

Abstract

The present paper tries to interpret Wang's writing adopting the methodology of urban sociology, and to analyze Wang's perceptions of Shanghai from the aspects of time, space and livings of Shanghai's women inhabitants with the theoretical bases that connect urban life with feminine images. In addition to that, the paper also tries to analyze the factors how Wang's writings are considered to be an exploration of her own life styles and her realization of the facts of life. From the above aspects, the paper demonstrates that Wang's best writing strategy is narrating the details of urban lives, and the feature of her writings is the pursuit of an ideal life extending from the descriptin of an individual to the illustration fo the masses.
