Abstract: TRANSITION METAL CATALYZED CARBON-CARBON BOND FORMATION REACTIONS ARE IMPORTANT TRANSFORMATIONS IN SYNTHETIC ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. IN THIS THESIS SOME NEW METHODOLOGIES FOR C-C BOND FORMATION REACTIONS USING NI-BASED CATALYSTS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED. FIRSTLY, ARYL-ALKYL (SP2-SP3) AND ARYL-ALKYL (SP3-SP3) BOND FORMATION REACTIONS BETWEEN ORGANIC HALIDES AND GRIGNARD REAGENTS CATALYZED BY NICKEL COMPLEXES CONTAINING HYBRID N,N,N LIGANDS HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED. THE APPLICATION OF SIMPLE NICKEL SALT AS CATALYST IN THE CARBOMAGNESIATION OF ALKYNES HAS BEEN STUDIED IN THE SECOND PART. THESE RESULTS LED TO THE SUCCESSFUL CATALYTIC APPLICATION OF NICKEL SALTS IN A THREE-COMPONENT DOMINO REACTION CONTAINING ALKYNE, GRIGNARD REAGENT AND ORGANIC HALIDE TO SYNTHESIZE TETRASUBSTITUTED OLEFINS. FINALLY, THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN EFFICIENT NI CATALYST SYSTEM FOR CYCLOTRIMERIZATION OF SIMPLE INTERNAL ALKYNES HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. THE RESULTS OBTAINED IN THIS THESIS PROVIDE NEW SYNTHETIC PROTOCOLS FOR SYNTHESIZING
